Burn

Oh, it burns my skin!

No matter how hard I try, I drip.

This scourging sun is unforgiven, outside tasks I will skip.

Diving headfirst into an ice bath just to take a dip.

I wish I was out of the fire cause my skin is welted and whipped.

This Texas sauna keeps me inside unable to take a trip.

But this is home, sweet home for now so a cool sweet tea I will sip.

To sweeten my heart and strengthen my soul

May I not die in this heat.
